Our Sailing Videos

For now we are sharing here our "old" videos from the adventure pre-kids, until we have new footage and more important time to create new videos.

This is how it all started:

We had fun editing movies in the evenings and uploaded one of them for our friends and family on YouTube. For some reason people found it and really loved it. We got so many heartwarming messages and such lovely feedback. From the guy in the wheelchair, who's dream it always was to sail around the world and who felt like experiencing it through us, to the couple who was so inspired by us that they sold everything, bought a yacht and started preparing their own adventures around the world. It opened our eyes to the fact that sharing our experience is so much more than just letting family and friends know what we do. It does actually inspire people and what greater gift is it to be able to inspire other people and maybe even be a part of changing ones life....

Sail away with me Honey

Our passage from Tonga to Fiji

This is one of our old videos we made in 2012. It became a pretty big hit on YouTube...at least for us, who never posted something with the intention of reaching a lot of people. We cruise from Tonga to Fiji and it's such a sweet memory for us to watch again and again. Sail away with us ...

Skinny dipping in the Soutch Pacific

A day of our life on board OM

Well...not all days are like this one. But for days like this we do all the hard work.

This videos was made in the Tongan island group of Hapa'ai back in 2012 and it brings back precious memories of a past time where we had so much time enjoying each other and just BE. I have a feeling that our future videos will look ..let's say a bit different :-)

Lena's scary shark dive

My encounter with the mights tiger shark

Here is a video from Fiji in 2011 where I had a dive with sharks. i wouldn't do it again but it was definitely an experience. Have a lookout for the massive tiger shark towards the end of the video. Pretty scary !

A whale of a time - Part 1

Our first whale swim together in Vava'u

This is a video made on the very trip Ahmed asked me to join him sailing, so before becoming a couple. It's pretty funny to watch it now and we crack up every time we see it. The way we act towards each other definitely shows that we had a crash on each other ...

A whale of a time part 2

Come with us swimming with the gentle giants

This is another video of swimming with the whales in beautiful Tonga. Considering that this is only the second video we made and the footage was only semi perfect, it's not bad. I can't wait for the upcoming whale swims with our new GoPro Hero 6 and some more experience in editing.

Life is a voyage ....back to New Zealand

Try, try and evntually you will suceed

The fridge was filled with yummy yummy-yumms and we were all ready to go, checked out, and left Opua. We saw two whales leaving and it was all perfect ....but then ...BOOM !

Ocean's calling

The reality of sailing: not everything always goes how you expect it....

While I'm sitting here creating this website, it's almost funny to realize that we are in a very similar situation right now. Missing weather windows as one thing after the other breaks or doesn't work. Maybe it should rather say: almost never things go like you expect them while sailing.

Here we come back to OM and get her ready for her next voyage. We had to turn around twice and ended up sailing end of July instead of beginning of June. This is what happenend....
